Intuitive Home Finding

Do you find a home?

Or does a home find you?

I think of it as two pairs of hands digging towards each other in the sand. We can’t see the progress but we feel our way to the result. When you think of a home, you look into your heart and you picture it, a picture so clear you feel it in your soul, the place you’ve dreamt about and longed for. Your Ideal home. We have etched into our minds the things we love about a house; mountain top or cull de sac, facing east or west, one level or several levels, ranch or modern style, wood, stone or stucco, in the trees or desert, sunny or shady, the image comes from our dreams.

There is much to learn from the houses themselves.  They speak to us as the wind has a voice through the trees.  One house I showed several times without significant response. A builder had tried to buy it, but the family had decided not to sell it to anyone that would tear it down.  At one point during a showing, the house felt dark and prospective buyers did not like it.   Another time I walked in with a family who had two of their little girls and the house literally brightened. Immediately the home took on an air of lightness. I commented on the bright feeling of the home and the family felt the same connection. I found out that the people that had lived there for over 52 years had two girls who were raised in that home. Needless to say, that family bought the house and everyone is happy.

Every home has a story.  Each time I have assisted a family or person in finding their home has been something that feels like a miracle to them. It’s personal, special, and remarkable in a multitude of ways.  Home owners hold the keys to each others stories. Good neighbors and the friends that will be made are also part of your future story.

The South Bay of Southern California includes several beach communities. Cultural centers abound, and recreational activities are seemingly limitless in supply. Each South Bay community offers a truly unmatched quality of life. Beaches are breathtaking, and nearby mountain ranges form a scenic embrace. From surfing to skiing, the south bay has it all. It is no wonder that, for an ever-increasing number of families. The cities in the South Bay are El Segundo, Manhattan Beach,Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes. The inferance is that these cities touch the water. All have a different unique size, shape, and feature of activity. The one consistant is to go see the sunset. The Sunset at the water calls out to everyone nearby to come stop for a short time and really be with the beautiful close of the sun on the ocean and sky.

Surfing, Swimming, sunning, dining, skimboarding, kite surfing, walking, and on and on.

Shopping at specific surf shops. One favorite is Beckers Surf Shop on Pier Ave. This is the place to buy surfboards, clothing and attire inc watches and sunglasses.

Parking here is not easy. Just a fact to consider.

Twitter Freedom to speak

Twitter is finding its way into becoming the shorthand of speaking. To join is easy. Just go to twitter.com and when you sign up you get a list of all the people you email to and you can select all or just a few.

The next thing is to create a twitter group. This could be church to business, volleyball groups to your kids play group list. Each group becames a file in your cell phone even. Yes the cell phone and your text message group can now easily find each other.

Will this leave the digg or the poke out in the cold? Who knows? But as Wired brought us the great article in the May issue of Wired Magazine there were a lot of great blogs about it. What is free to the public grows and guess what will get behind that? Yes, you guessed it  “Advertising”  Just go anywhere and the “Billboard” will arrive shortly.  You may walk in the park and look at the trees and your cell phone beeps and you have a twitter- twirl, even chirp from your friend. So Tweet.

Hermosa Valley Park

Thats right Hermosa Beach schools rank right up with Manhattan Beach and Palos Verdes school scores. Further, the State Officials ranked Valley School in the top 10 % of California Schools. The index of measurement is called “Star” testing for   grades 3 through 8th was 903 and Hermosa View with Kindergarden through 2nd grade scored 909.  The town is sandwiched between Redondo and Manhattan Beach and has the school system that they can boast about. After graduation they move up to Mira Costa High School and have a choice of Redondo High as well. In the last few years the students have seemed to go where their friends go. Some things never seem to change.

I have first hand experience with the schools for our family. It could be a great place to move. The beach allows a great place to relax when out of school or work. We call it vacation at home.

The Christian Science Monitor had a great article about Twitter and being near the first to express news on the China earthquake. Like animals and birds they chatter and nearly preempt a warning word or Tweet.

Tom Regan wrote on May 22 2008 page 16 that NPR colleagues were right in the area.Credit to the 1st report goes to Robert Scoble who blogged as he saw the twitter on Google Talk about the quake. News was out one hour ahead.

Twitter is micro talk which is what my husband wished I would make a habit. Pun on micro.

The benefit of twitter is that it is instant, quick and informative. The best news reporting is for being new…for news and for short.

I wonder if it will be the way people that live so far from family can get the real story. Many a night I have had the phone ring and my brother in Tampa calls me in Redondo Beach to see if I am ok. The earthquake news worries him as I sleep after a trembler a hour earlier.

Technology is moving along just as fast as possible.

EARTH Blocks coming to Redondo Beach

ar1210866315710911.jpg

When was the last time you saw home made blocks? My friend Mara Hawks is coming to Redondo Beach to celebrate her son Tristans graduation from El Camino College. He is then off to Cal State Los Angeles. His major is Geological Science. I have a wonderful link to Tristans hike journey on my link page. He is a huge contributor to anything EARTH. His sister made her baby these blocks and will be bringing them to show us, along with the baby. Later we are meeting in Hollywood Riviera having mexican food at The Riviera

Mara is an agent in Auburn Alabama for First Team. She is a musician, a blogger and a true inspiration to everyone who gets to work with her.

Agents meet and become trusted friends. This is the unique feature of Real Estate. Usually there is another agent on the other side of the deal. The friendship may develop and trust is the result. That is why when realtors communicate, as they do on Blogs, that Realtors learn from each other and grow each day in a world of new inventory. Think of the fun we have learning about each area and each relationship to schools, community, and careers that we have to share with each other and to the world.

Palos Verdes has a great new blogsite…  check it out with Elaine Carlson, who has created this with a background of her family, her love of making cookies and having tea parties, and a new WCR member. Check it out. Expect joy and information.

Sydney Pollack: a noble life

Sydney Pollack was not only noble but large. The performances, the director, the husband, the family. Robert Pope was the designer that he worked with in New York. Pope and Associates Interior Space Planning and Design, Inc. is a Century City Design Firm seen on ActiveRain.com

Tip of all time is to buy or rent a treasure of a dvd- the Frank Gehry contribution to Architecture and film with Sydeny Pollack.

When we learn from blogs over Yahoo news that is a good thing. It’s proof of love. The editorial is usually neutral in emotion- sometimes a bias but still cold over warm. This blog has the warm respect for another life in just a few words.

The movie with Frank Gehry was a simple final complete gift. We have so many places to see the noble, the funny and the gifted film person on any side of the camera.

This is how a blog told me todays news…

Friend of Heartland Sydney Pollack Passes

http://heartlandtmp.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 28/ friend-of-heartland-sydney-pollack-…

I was wrapping up a pleasantly quiet Memorial Day weekend on Monday when I clicked over to Yahoo! News and read of the passing of Sydney Pollack.

Sydney Pollack began his career as an actor, then often continued as one, even after winning directing and producing Academy Awards for 1985’s Out of Africa

South Bay in LA, not San Francisco

The South Bay of Southern California includes several beach communities. South of the LAX Airport, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes all connect to line the coast of Southern Califonia. Nearby, Torrance and Lomita offer more affordable housing, but are still less than ten miles from the beach. Cultural centers abound, and recreational activities are seemingly limitless in supply. Each South Bay community offers a truly unmatched quality of life. Beaches are breathtaking, and nearby mountain ranges form a scenic embrace. From surfing to skiing, the south bay has it all. It is no wonder that, for an ever-increasing number of families, there is no better choice.

The Palos Verdes Specialist designation is a wonderful area of study. Many realtor residents have been amazed over the detailed research. The unique terrain, the city differences, requirements, the sewer systems are only a part that the study covers. Many people move there for the education alone. The area is known for sending the graduates to the top Universities in the Nation. This is just the tip of information on the hill. You want an agent that knows Palos Verdes if you are buying there. There is so much to know about the area.

Professional designations listed include completion of a study.

SRES is the specialist for 55+ Senior concerns from Tax savings programs and beyond.

Lead Street and Epro are terms representing internet knowledge. The impact of selling homes from Palos Verdes and across the South Bay is a thrill for everyone. Learning to use the internet to reach out into the world and open a window into our community is the hope of each blogger, writer, realtor and person that I know.
