Two for sale Which is BEST?
1 Comment Published by popelynne November 8th, 2008 in Redondo Beach. by popelynne
Two on a lot, back to back. North and South, Huntington Lane and Perkins. This week I held a brokers open house. It is so new the landscapers were putting in plants as I put up signs. Neighbors came first. They had been waiting for this day. They came in pairs usually. Today was no exception. I love to know their thoughts to take back to the Builders. Two friends came before they left for work. They carefully walked through each unit. They wondered if one of the bedrooms would be too small for a Kingsize bed since it had an unusual shape. I told them yes but they couldn’t see it. So I stepped it off with my feet and they still could not be convinced. I lay down on the floor to show the length and they were absolutely amazed. I left lots of headroom for pillows and headboard and still there was way more room than they thought. It really proved that empty rooms can be misleading as to the final size of furniture and space.
We had a good laugh as they helped pull me up and I dusted off my clothing. They loved the fact that the downstairs bath had a shower. So often it’s just toilet and sink. This would be great for the downstairs bedroom when guests visit. So we went to the rooftop deck. They loved the views. After all was searched toured and examined they decided which was best and convinced me. The Perkins side of the property faced Palos Verdes hills, it got the most afternoon sunshine and it just glowed as we stook there at 2 pm. We knew the other got the morning sun and had lots of great points. Yet we loved that Perkins sunshine. Come see it. 2620 Huntington Lane Redondo Beach. It is south of Artesia and West of Inglewood Ave. Only a mile from the Inglewood Bl exit at the 405 freeway. It is so fun to see. Balconies off each bedroom, patios and decks. The builder brought the outside in for a true California Sunny Home! Open House tours this weekend!

0 Comments Published by popelynne August 5th, 2008 in Redondo Beach. by popelynneThey love our city- Officer Campos and Officer Garcia-love working here in Redondo Beach. Even if it means being bitten by a ‘Possum….opossum…Officers today took the animal to release into the wilder parts of our county. The neighbor said he was eating the raccoons food… food is food…How will a skunk, cat raccoon or opossum know the difference in whose food is available. It reminds me of Indians and land…it never occurred to them that someone would divide it up and sell it.
What do you readers think? Feed some wild animals and trap others? most important is the good service the animal control in Redondo provides. Did you know that a skunk has to be trapped in a very special cage…? They do. It has to do with the skunk smell. The officers got a special slip harness to put on the animal so it could go from one cage to another. It was transferred successfully.

Redondo Beach real estate, HOMES for sale
1 Comment Published by popelynne July 24th, 2008 in Redondo Beach. by popelynneRedondo Beach real estate, homes for sale have more open houses this summer than ever! There is a reason. I was at a conference and I heard that Agents are looking for Buyers! With listings staying on the market longer, the expense of the listing really adds up. The buyer market is slim now as mortgage loans are for the few with 1099 stubs. The days of the stated income are rare right now.
When the news says the rates have come down. It doesn’t mean the consumer rates will fall. Call the mortgage lender of your choice today and check out the true interest rates. Then you will be ready to buy a home. It is the first time that interest rates and home prices have both been low. The prices will remain low for another year but will interest rates?

Starbucks in Redondo Beach
2 Comments Published by popelynne June 6th, 2008 in Redondo Beach. by popelynneThe heart of Redondo Beach is debated. The Hollywood Rivera says it is the area of Pacific Coast Highway as it turns and curves at the base of Palos Verdes. Three cities pour into this mix Palos Verdes, Torrance and Redondo Beach. They can all claim this STARBUCKS.
Starbucks is the community meeting place for all beach morning lovers. I had relatives in from Auburn, Alabama and we went over for our breakfast “Event.” The smells of coffee, the culture of the beach, the smiling faces all make the trip a fun treat. This is our idea of healthy over a big mac breakfast. The sit down, read the paper crowd verses the drive through rush. If you want to have a celestial morning come on down for a sunny stroll to the beach. I don’t even drink coffee so the juice is for me and the coffee for my visiting family.
Beach Activities in “South Bay” of Los Angeles
0 Comments Published by popelynne May 30th, 2008 in Palos Verdes Estates real estate, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach. by popelynneThe South Bay of Southern California includes several beach communities. Cultural centers abound, and recreational activities are seemingly limitless in supply. Each South Bay community offers a truly unmatched quality of life. Beaches are breathtaking, and nearby mountain ranges form a scenic embrace. From surfing to skiing, the south bay has it all. It is no wonder that, for an ever-increasing number of families. The cities in the South Bay are El Segundo, Manhattan Beach,Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance, Palos Verdes. The inferance is that these cities touch the water. All have a different unique size, shape, and feature of activity. The one consistant is to go see the sunset. The Sunset at the water calls out to everyone nearby to come stop for a short time and really be with the beautiful close of the sun on the ocean and sky.
Surfing, Swimming, sunning, dining, skimboarding, kite surfing, walking, and on and on.
Shopping at specific surf shops. One favorite is Beckers Surf Shop on Pier Ave. This is the place to buy surfboards, clothing and attire inc watches and sunglasses.
Parking here is not easy. Just a fact to consider.

EARTH Blocks coming to Redondo Beach
0 Comments Published by popelynne May 28th, 2008 in Redondo Beach. by popelynne
When was the last time you saw home made blocks? My friend Mara Hawks is coming to Redondo Beach to celebrate her son Tristans graduation from El Camino College. He is then off to Cal State Los Angeles. His major is Geological Science. I have a wonderful link to Tristans hike journey on my link page. He is a huge contributor to anything EARTH. His sister made her baby these blocks and will be bringing them to show us, along with the baby. Later we are meeting in Hollywood Riviera having mexican food at The Riviera
Mara is an agent in Auburn Alabama for First Team. She is a musician, a blogger and a true inspiration to everyone who gets to work with her.
Auburn Alabama Cal State LA cal state los angeles el camino college first team real estare hollywood riviera Realtor Redondo Beach redondo beachRedondo Beach has been one of the most desirable areas to live in the country.
My husband and son prepare to surf. Redondo has a series of piers with fishing and amusements, a Saltwater Lagoon and many fine food restaurants and hotels, and a beautiful harbor.
Redondo Beach has several areas North and South. Great schools, business and beauty bless this city. Redondo Beach is a full-service city with its own police, fire and public works departments, two public libraries, a performing arts center, fifteen parks, a large recreational and commercial harbor including King Harbor, a 1,500-slip private craft port; the Redondo Beach Pier and Seaside Lagoon and a swim and surfing beach.
Homes can be found for first time home buyers to luxurious sprawling mansions. Size counts in upsizing and downsizing as well as New homes, townhomes, Condo’s and Senior Housing. Redondo Beach has a community spirit including historic homes and great educational opportunities. We go to the dog park, walk to the beach, and enjoy living along the Avenues or driving streets with the Jewel names. The easy lifestyle on the weekends makes this area a reason not to travel anywhere.
Searching for a condo in Redondo Beach
1 Comment Published by popelynne May 9th, 2008 in Redondo Beach. by popelynneThe search and previewing of the condo market in Redondo Beach took me several hours yesterday. Camino Real and Prospect are cross streets with a heart shaped section of properties Called Brookside Village. The Prospect side has numbers in the 600’s and the Camino Real side has 800-900’s. It was a lovely search through the complex with a central Pool and Tennis court and lots of walk paths. Some “inside” units - that is where you go into a central hall have a feeling of apartments. The outside units along the parameter were lots more fun to me and felt more like home. The street noise was muffled by the dual paned windows. I will add a photo to this blog later today.
One of the upper floors sold for a price below the other asking prices. Because…the people were contingent on buying another property they wanted. Good deals are there for buyers in Redondo Beach and anywhere else right now. Put yourself in a sellers shoes. They are competing with REO, Foreclosures, and anyone else for sale. The seller has to be competitive. The REO’s are usually not in such great shape either. The banks are trying to figure out what to do and recasting loans as my last article states.
Finally I found a 3 bedroom for a 2 bedroom price. I have to hurry its only been on 3 days. So I will call the agent tell them we are coming and they will let the sellers know there is some action…..Such busy weekends. The buyers are off of work. Mothers day will be a trip, and guess what else? My buyers looking time has to work around the SURF!
Surfing is the healing art for everyone that discovers it. My husband and sons learned to surf in Hermosa Beach. Our grandaughter did the ROXY surf training. It is reaching out to women in greater numbers and of all ages! Hooray. I did try surfing in Kauai last month. I need some more practice. I was laughing so hard. I also didn’t know you go from hand to feet..not knees…I was on my knees like a baby crawling…and laughing.
